Foundational Courses in the InternationalCollege

In order to provide a cultural context, encourage interaction among the different forms of art, as well as to enrich life and enhance learning in a relaxed environment, the International College offers the following foundational courses to all non-degree overseas students: Chinese Landscape Painting, Chinese Flower-and-bird Painting, Chinese Poetry, Chinese Calligraphy, Tai Chi, Chinese Music, and Chinese Medicine and Health.

--Chinese Landscape Painting – covers basic techniques and styles of Chinese landscape painting, and appreciation of classic paintings

--Chinese Flower-and-bird Painting – teaches basic techniques and styles of Chinese flower-and-bird painting, and appreciation of well-known paintings

--Chinese Poetry – appreciation of Chinese poems and Chinese painting captions

--Chinese Calligraphy – basic Chinese calligraphy techniques and appreciation of famous works

--Tai Chi – basic Tai Chi moves and practices for well-being

--Chinese Music – introduction and appreciation of Chinese music

--Chinese Medicine and Health – traditional Chinese medicine and its views on the human body, health and well-being
